Capsaicin Heat Meets Menthol Cool in One Roller
The Tillmans Tranquils CBD + CBG Warming Roll-On is a 3 fl oz (89ml) gel in a rollerball bottle. It holds 1500mg of CBD and 1500mg of CBG, for 3000mg of total cannabinoids, and no THC is listed on the label. Menthol crystals and capsicum oleoresin, the extract that gives chili peppers their heat, create a warm-then-cool feeling on the skin. White camphor oil and a long list of essential oils round out the formula. Tillmans prints "Warming Relief" on the bottle as the product's name.
The brand also makes a cooling version, and the two are easy to tell apart once you know what changed. Their CBD + CBG Freeze Roll-On carries the same 1500mg CBD and 1500mg CBG split, but it leans on menthol and arnica for a cold sensation. This one adds capsicum, so the feeling builds into warmth instead. If you already know you prefer heat over chill on your skin, or the other way around, that's the whole decision.
Warming rollers aren't unique to Tillmans. Green Roads CBD Heat Relief Roll-On pairs cayenne and menthol with 750mg of broad-spectrum CBD. The Tillmans bottle holds four times as many total cannabinoids and splits them evenly between CBD and CBG, so it's the pick for a stronger concentration with CBG in the mix.
CBG still shows up far less often in topicals than CBD, and an even split like this one is uncommon. If you're comparing formats, such as creams against roll-ons, browse our CBD topicals to see the different strengths and bases side by side. A roller has one practical edge over a jar: the ball does the spreading, so you don't need to scoop gel out with your fingers.
The essential oil list is long: eucalyptus, peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, lemongrass, black pepper, cinnamon, two kinds of chamomile, juniper berry, pink grapefruit and more, plus ginger root extract. Expect a strong herbal, minty scent when you open it. The base is mostly water, aloe leaf juice, witch hazel and glycerin. Several of the botanicals are marked organic on the label.
A few of the less familiar names on the panel are there for texture and shelf life. Carbomer and triethanolamine work together to turn the liquid into a gel that stays put instead of running. Phenoxyethanol is a common cosmetic preservative, and meadowfoam seed oil, pressed from a wildflower native to the Pacific Northwest, gives the gel a light, slick glide.
Capsaicin can feel hot on sensitive skin, so try a small patch first, such as the inside of your forearm, before covering a larger area. Skip broken, scraped or irritated skin, and keep the gel away from your eyes, nose and mouth. Roll it onto clean, dry skin for the most even coverage.

Suggested Use
Shake the bottle so the gel reaches the rollerball, roll a thin layer onto the area and massage it in. Wash your hands right after, since capsaicin lingers on fingertips.
After the Roller, Skip the Heating Pad
Don't stack extra heat on top of a capsaicin gel. Leave off heating pads, tight wraps and hot showers for a while after applying, and keep the area uncovered so the warmth doesn't build more than you want. It's for external use only, so store the bottle where kids and pets can't reach it.
